How Does Wall Color and Wall Texture Affect Mood?

Nothing seems to have as much impact on atmosphere as wall color. When walking into a room, a bright, bold color on the wall can instantly startle, stumble, or wake up an individual who was previously lost in a daydream. The formerly frazzled might step into a calming nest of blue walls and feel the heartbeat slow and sense the nerves begin to calm. Psychological attachments or color memories can imperceptibly alter mood, but emotional responses to color vary by person. Research has indicated that warm hues, such as reds and yellows, are perceived as stimulating and are often associated with aggression, strength, courage, frustration, lust, and feelings related to action and assertion. Many of the studies tagging red with this stimulating effect were done in North America, so it's easy to see how the use of red as the color used for fire engines, ambulances, and emergency signs in this region could be attached to a cognitive trigger for a "stimulating" effect. Eco friendly awareness | Abaca fiber

What is Abaca? Abaca is a relative of the banana plant that grows in hot, humid climates. One of the main producers of abaca is the Philippines, which is why the plant has been mistakenly called Manila hemp. Unlike banana plants, however, which are valued for their fruit, abaca’s primary benefit is in its long leaf sheaths, which grow to be 12 to 20 feet high. All parts of the stalk—from the outer dark layer to the inner most layers—can be extracted, stripped and processed. Abaca fiber has been used for centuries to make strong, breathable textiles that are comfortable to wear and long lasting. Abaca is popular for clothing, hats, shoes and slippers. In the Philippines there are at least 150 different traditional weaves. Abaca Plays a Key Role in Many Industries Abaca plays a key role in more than a dozen industries, including automobile, cosmetics, decorating, fashion, food, maritime, medical, packaging, paint, paper, pet products and even construction because it is many times ligh

Musa wall covering and its banana fiber characteristics

Banana fiber is a natural bast fiber. It has its own physical and chemical characteristics and many other properties that make it a fine quality fiber. Appearance of banana fiber is similar to that of bamboo fiber and ramie fiber, but its fineness and spinnability is better than the two. The chemical composition of banana fiber is cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. It is highly strong fiber. It has smaller elongation. It has somewhat shiny appearance depending upon the extraction & spinning process. It is light weight. It has strong moisture absorption quality. It absorbs as well as releases moisture very fast. It is bio- degradable and has no negative effect on environment and thus can be categorized as eco-friendly fiber. Its average fineness is 2400Nm.

Natura3 | A Sustainable design Material

Sources of sustainable design materials from nature would include these aquatic plants. Known as pests, water hyacinths are now known as a versatile natural raw material. Here are 3 basic things to know about these plants: • Originally intended for ornamental purposes. Native to South America, water hyacinths were imported to be used as decorative plants. • Considered as pest in some countries. Clogging waterways and impacting natural balance in waters are only some of the unfavorable effects of these plants. Fifty countries are now infested by thick mats of water hyacinths. • Plant parts can be eaten but not encouraged. The Handbook of Energy Crops mentioned that leaves and stalks are eaten but are NOT RECOMMENDED as these can cause itching. Like us on Facebook and tell us other facts about water hyacinths.
